An hour of meditation can take your mind off of the stresses of everyday life and can help you improve your mental health.
The program by the Calgary-based motivational seminar company, which is part of the Calgary Buddhist Association, offers a 30-minute meditation course for adults, teens and children.
The program is part social media, part social justice and part mindfulness.CBC News has been following the program, and the instructor was in attendance.
She said meditation can be beneficial for people who are struggling with anxiety and depression.
“It helps people to feel relaxed and peaceful,” she said.
“If you are experiencing any sort of stress, anxiety or depression and you are struggling to cope with it, meditation can help to help you calm down and to feel better.”
You are also helping to alleviate the symptoms that are associated with anxiety.
“Participants also get to watch a video of the meditation.
The company said the sessions can be helpful for people with mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and eating disorders.”
Meditation has been shown to reduce stress, depression, and anxiety in a number of studies,” it said in a news release.”
